TOOL Create Reflection for Capstone

During the Create Quest, we were guided through a series of quest that asked us to demonstrate our ability to create different documents.
During the Create a Content Map, I choose to create a content map for teacher the Food Guide Pyramid.  The quest allowed me to organize my thoughts and provided me a base for teaching this skill.  I enjoyed the content mapping.  It allowed me the opportunity to explore different concepts I wanted to cover while teaching the Food guide pyramid.  I will use content mapping in the future, it is a good way for me to organize my thoughts and provides a way for me to be sure I have thoroughly covered a topic I am teaching.
Using Web 2.0 tools to differentiate teaching instruction.  I chose to do a screen-o-matic on a PowerPoint that I created on depression.  I think differentiation is the best way to keep students interested and engaged.  I like interactive videos and I think it provides a level of interaction that is simple but yet engaging.  It also gives the virtual class a more personal touch.
During the locating resources quest I learned about Creative Commons and using resources that are free to use in my classroom.  I am relieved to finally know what I can and can not use in my classroom.  I think locating resources that are informative and free to use are important to teachers when we are trying to direct our students to resources outside of the LMS.  This quest gave me the confidence that I need to provide those resources.
Principles of Building Portable Learning Objects was a quest I really enjoyed.  I like that there are resources available to be to use and enhance and check my students knowledge.  What I like most about this quest is I got to explore resources that can really build on my teaching techniques.  I like that I have control of the content that I import into these systems.  I can design reviews for my students that are content specific and focus in on skills that they may need reinforcement with.
