TOOL Navigate Reflection for Capstone

During the Navigate quest, I was guided through a variety of skills I would like to highlight a few of the quest here in my final post on the Navigate quest.
Lecture Capture quest was a quest where I explored how teachers can record important skills within a digital classroom.  I think this skill is important to meeting students needs.  The ability to record a learning session and focus in on a concept that is difficult to understand can be extremely beneficial to the learning community.  Students have the ability to access the lecture at their leisure and can reference the recording when they need the reinforcement.  I think a face to face teacher would also benefit from this feature. Having references for students to listen to over and over at their leisure is providing a service to students that will enhance their learning and provide them with as much reinforcement that they desire.
The LMS tool quest, let me explore all of the possible tools within a LMS.  All of the tool are essential to the learning community.  I have found that the roll that you hold in the LMS will determine with of the tools are most important.  Some of the tools are more useful to administration while other tools are more vital to the teacher.  Since I am a teacher, I explored each of the tools that are important to me.  I listed them in my post and discussed the importance of each tool.
Tools within the LMS  can be beneficial to all participants in a learning environment.  During this quest, I provided a list of all of the tools as well as highlighting the tools I found most useful in a power point.  The take away message that I learned by doing this quest is to know what tools are available and how to incorporate each tool so that the learning environment is easy to manipulate and assist in student learning.  The tools are also vital to tracking student progress and keeping in communication with parents.
LMS Reporting was a quest where I learned that there are 4 levels of reporting for an LMS.  The 4 levels include teacher, student, course and program.  All of the reporting is important, but for me as an educator, I found the teacher and student reporting the most important.  As a teacher, I am able to see an overall success of my class.  I can see what assignments were the most and least successful.  This feature allows me to focus my teaching skills and allows me the opportunity to guide future students during the learning process.  The student reporting is vital for a teacher to look at student learning habits.  It allows the teacher to intervene if questions come up about a students achievement.  It allows the teacher to see what the student spends the most and least time on.  This feature provides essential feedback to growing and enhancing teacher and student achievement and allows for the best possible opportunity for learning.
